It's been almost a year since i have been able to drive my Z due to a spun bearing. I finally got the money together to order a low miles motor, and have it put in. Things were looking good, like i might have been able to drive it this weekend.This friday (My birthday)i got the call I had been waiting for, my mechanic. Unfortunately he had bad news. he started the motor, it ran beautifully for about ten seconds then BAM! Timing belt slipped, and engine stopped. Carlos, my mechanic, said he thinks that the timing belt tensioner had locked up and hence the slippage. Needless to say my day was kind of ruined. The rest of the day i had friends and family calling me to wish me a happy birthday and i had to explain why i sounded so bummed out. I called venus motors, the place i ordered the engine from, and discussed some sort of compensation, I will be calling them back monday. The last person to cal me was my dad, who has been as excited for me to get my z running as I have. After explaining what happened, he told me he wanted to help me get the car running again. So he sent me $1000! I was speechless! I love my parents. So I went to talk to Carlos on Saturday, and he told me the heads on my old motor are fine, so he is going to send them to be completely refurbished then swap them onto my new, good block. Well my weekend didn't turn out how i had hoped, but it wasn't a total disaster. It would be cool if Venus would give me a bit of a refund, but i'm not going to count on it. It will be a few more weeks, but i should be driving my Z soon! I think i'm gonna have to change my name to "BlackholeZ"
